Responsibilities*
ALUMNI RELATIONS AND EVENTS MANAGEMENT:
Responsible in conjunction with the Director of Development for development of program content, planning and implementation for alumni relations and/or donor/prospect events:
*Develop overall strategic alumni and donor event planning for UMSI.
*Design and develop in conjunction with the Director of Development meetings with the UMSI Alumni Society Board.
*Design and manage annual activities for the Homecoming/Reunion Weekend and the annual and reunion luncheons and other activities.
*Help serve as liaison for other external committees within school.
*Plan and facilitate donor recognition and student recognition events.
STEWARDSHIP AND OUTREACH
Responsible for maintaining and management of consistent stewardship, gift processing, and acknowledgment under direction of Director of Development:
*Process gifts.
*Act in partnership with UMSI gift officers to identify personalized stewardship and cultivation moves for major gift donors and prospects and provide support for donor luncheon.
*Create opportunities for new engagement and donor recognition to enhance donor experience.
*Manage the stewardship of gifts and endowments including recognition, regular endowment reports to donors, and annual report. Work with the Office of Student Affairs as necessary on this process.
*Gather records and organize information about prospects and donors utilizing DART, the University’s donor and alumni tracking database. Produce prospect and donor reports as needed. Generate ad hoc reports.
ANNUAL GIVING AND ALUMNI RELATIONS COMMUNICATIONS
Responsible in partnership with the Annual Giving Officer for support of the annual giving campaigns, including annual fund, class gift, Crowdrise, and faculty-staff campaign:
*Ability to identify potential major gift and planned giving prospects.
*Build strategic and tactical plans for increasing alumni giving and participation.
*Provide support for the annual direct mail solicitation and coordinate telefund and direct mail projects details with University Annual Giving Office.
*Partner with the Annual Giving Officer on new annual giving programs to build non-alumni donor base such as parents, family and friends, as well as faculty and staff programs.
*Provide support for content of UMSI newsletters, Calendarzine, website, and and other special materials for gift solicitation. Act as a liaison with the School’s Marketing and Communication unit and act as communications liaison to internal and external constituents.
DEVELOPMENT AND PROSPECT RESEARCH
*Maintain up-to-date prospect tracking reports for the Gift Officers’ review and follow-up. Make changes and add information to the DART database as needed.
*Coordinate donor briefing and hosting needs of Director and gift officers.
*Provide support for strategic planning initiatives during campaign, including development and utilization of personalized prospect lists and tracking reports in DART to support gift officers.
*Secure assistance from DART development staff as needed.
*Provide individualized prospect research to support donor work of gift officers and dean.
GENERAL / ADMINISTRATIVE
Responsible for a thorough understanding of development practices to operate independently on all event management, stewardship and outreach, annual giving and alumni and donor communications as well as the general/administrative work that is associated with all development and internal/external relations:
*Schedule appointments and maintain calendar for self and the Director of Development; assist with travel arrangements for Director and Major Gifts Officer.
*Reconcile office P-Cards via Concur; process travel and hosting reimbursements for the office; order office supplies; review office budget.
*Generate ad hoc reports.

Required Qualifications*
*Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
*2-5 years experience in fundraising, marketing, public relations, communications, or a related field.
*Experience with database management.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Demonstrated superior interpersonal and teamwork skills.
*Maintain confidentiality and work under deadlines.
*Dedication to outstanding customer service.
*Ability to work in a team setting.
Desired Qualifications*
*Extensive knowledge and working experience with personal computers and complex databases.
*Knowledge of University systems.
