Brian Lacy, Senior Vice President, HEP Development Services

Brian Lacy began his development career at the University of Toronto 16 years ago as the first full time call center manager. He first became a Director of Annual Giving in his next position at Trent University. Brian then moved to the US and enjoy success as Director of Annual Giving at St. Francis University in PA, Kent State University, and finally the University of Connecticut. After three years at UConn he agreed to join HEP Development Services which is a very respected vendor in the wealth screening, data cleansing, and matching gift areas. Since joining HEP full time more than 3 years ago, Brian has worked with more than one thousand non-profit from colleges and universities to hospitals, hospices, food kitchens, fraternities and more. Brian continues to present occasionally, attend about a dozen conferences annually, and maintain several annual giving consulting clients.

Leisha LeCouvie, Associate Director, Alumni Affinity and Volunteer Relations at McGill University

Leisha LeCouvie has worked in alumni relations for many years, starting first at Trent University in Peterborough, then at Concordia University in Montreal. Leisha has held several positions in alumni affairs over the years, including special events coordinator and affinity manager.

Leisha is currently Associate Director, Alumni Affinity and Volunteer Relations at McGill University. Areas working with her include: affinity and travel programs, market research, student programs, volunteer recruitment and board management.

John Ley, Director of Information Services, Southern Methodist University

John Ley has been at SMU since 1993 and is currently serving as the director of information services in the Development and External Affairs division. After many years he became one of SMU’s recent graduates earning his bachelor degree in social science (psychology/philosophy). Prior to that he served as project lead for the IMPACT Project, the PeopleSoft Advancement Implementation at SMU. Previously, John served as the manager of gift accounting & campaign reporting in the Office of Development.

John has served on the faculty at CASE’s Summer Institutes, the Annual Senior Conferences, and the Matching Gifts Symposium chairing the Annual Senior Meeting for four consecutive years. He has also been published in CASE CURRENTS and the CASE book, Advancement Services.

Richard Lim, Vice President, Affinity Market Group, at Meloche Monnex

Richard Lim is Vice President, Affinity Market Group, at Meloche Monnex. He graduated from Sir George Williams University (now Concordia University) with a Bachelor of Commerce degree (major in accounting). Richard is also a Certified General Accountant and has successfully participated in the Executive Development Program, at Queen’s University in Kingston. He is a Trustee of the Education Foundation of CPAC. Richard started his career as an internal auditor with a large life insurance company in Canada. He later worked for a major trust company as Computer Auditor. He was the Controller and Treasurer for an advertising company and subsequently the Division Controller of a publicly traded international manufacturing company.

Richard joined Meloche Monnex in 1982 and has held various positions in finance, administration, human resources, and systems management. In his current position as Vice President, Affinity Market Group, he is responsible for corporate client relations, public relations, and business development in Ontario

Jeffrey A. Lindauer, Executive Director, Office of Special Gifts & Annual Giving Programs at IU Foundation

In this capacity, he oversees all areas of Special Gifts and Annual Giving Programs, including the IU Annual Fund, Class Campaigns, Parents Fund, Well House Society, Young Alumni Programs and other campaigns as they arise. Jeff has spent his entire 10+ career working with Indiana University rising from the calling floor as a student to his leadership role of today.

As well as consulting, Jeff is the co-author of Conducting a Successful Annual Giving Program, one of five books in the very popular "Dove on Fundraising" series published by Jossey-Bass (link here). Active within the field, Jeff has conducted numerous presentations and seminars about annual giving and related topics at various conferences and other venues.
