Dear Friend,

By now, I hope that you have received news of my changing role at the Freeman School and of Freeman’s impressive jump in several rankings, including Bloomberg Businessweek and US News & World Report, which demonstrates that the world is taking notice of our accomplishments.

The Freeman School truly is unique and special – there was never a doubt in my mind that I would remain a part of the faculty after stepping down from the Dean role. Over five years ago, Hurricane Katrina left Freeman with fewer faculty, staff, students and applicants. Since then, because of the hard work and dedication of our community, Freeman has not only recovered, but triumphed!

Beyond the numbers, part of what makes Freeman so special is its commitment to the people of New Orleans. Community service, giving back so that others may have an opportunity, and affecting more than just the bottom line are all part of learning business at Freeman. This was most evident right after Katrina, when students stepped in to help struggling businesses regain their footing. Not only did our students gain valuable hands-on experience, but also strengthened ties with the city and its citizens.

As we welcome our new Dean, Ira Solomon, let us join together in support of the growth and continued success of Freeman. Your support of Freeman before June 30th will empower our students to become leaders in their respective fields. I hope you will consider making a gift online today.
