The Maquila Solidarity Network works to promote labour rights both overseas and here in Canada through a mix of grassroots protest, corporate engagement, lobbying, research, and policy initiatives. Mr. Thomas was instrumental in developing the first Canadian university licensee Code of Conduct at the University of Toronto and regularly advises companies, governments, universities and other public institutions on development and implementation of policies to improve worker rights in modern supply chains. He is involved in developing federal policy with the Ethical Trading Action Group, a coalition of national faith, labour, non-governmental and student organizations committed to improving worker rights in the global apparel industry.
