Pledge collection rates differ on the pledge types and also by how the
acquisition of pledges is accomplished and how follow-up is subsequently
Since major gift donors are usually worked with quite closely, and most major gifts have donor agreements in place, the pledge collection rates for major gifts are very high.
If an annual fund program regularly follows up with donors, pledge collection rates should typically average in the 85% and higher range. It's important to regularly write off annual fund pledge not collected so donors can be put back into the solicitation pool.
Collection can also be improved by offering credit card payments, EFT and continuous giving options.
