Development Research and Information Systems Administrator |
The
person in this position works as a peer of the Directors of Major/ Planned
Gifts, Annual Fund, and Corporate/Foundation Relations. This individual is responsible for the management of all prospect research programs including identifying potential donors, gathering, evaluating, organizing, and maintaining prospect information, and supporting major gift, annual fund, and capital campaign fundraising needs. This person will establish and manage the prospect management (MOVES) system. This position ensures the quality and accuracy of information, keeps abreast of changing research resources, and promotes the professionalism of the research, gift processing and database staff. The Development Research & Information Administrator will have overall responsibility for gift processing, database management, and research. Duties and Responsibilities: 1.Conduct prospect research and manage research volunteers and database staff. 2.Develop competencies with Raiser's Edge software and manage database and database staff. 3.Develop proactive major gift prospect identification that corresponds with the agency's fundraising priorities. 4.Establish long range plan in conjunction with Senior Director of Development, Directors' of Major and Planned Giving, Annual Giving, Planned Giving, and Capital Campaign officers to expand research capabilities of the office in support of projected major gift and capital fund drives. 5.Conduct research to support cultivation and solicitation efforts and develop cultivation and solicitation strategies. 6.Provide maintenance and continuous improvement of the prospect tracking system. 7.Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the use of electronic and hardcopy information. 8.Supervise database and gift processing staff. 9.Develop and oversee the preparation of all donor profiles to support capital, planned, and major annual fund gift activities. 10.Coordinate bi-weekly Major Gift meetings to develop cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies in partnership with the team; exchange information on major prospects; participate in a rating (capability and readiness) and determining ask amounts using research information. 11.Recruit, train and supervise research volunteers. 12.Develop and manage budget 13.Maintain a current research/reference library of books and periodicals related to research and development. 14.Work with development staff to ensure appropriate prospect coding. 15.Oversee electronic screening of database; select vendor; determine screening population; interpret results. 16.Provide reporting tools for effective delivery of information. 17.Be conscientious, aggressive and dedicated to the objectives of affirmative action. Minimum Qualifications: Education: BA degree required Training and Experience: A minimum of three years development research experience and staff supervisory experience necessary. Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of fundraising. Preference given to candidates familiar with Raiser's Edge, strong computer skills, and experience with Lexis Nexis and online search systems. Demonstrated ability to analyze, synthesize, and report on high volume of information; ability to write research reports with attention to accuracy, detail, and pertinence. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Must have independent judgment, initiative, participate as a team member, lead projects and maintain confidentiality. Must be able to work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and identify the mission, goals, and objectives of the organization. The highest level of integrity assumed. |
