The role of the Manager, Information
Resources is to provide leadership and project management expertise in
the performance of work driven by user business needs.
This includes providing quality and timely business solutions that
involve all stages of the Advancement System's development life cycle.
The Manager works with all departments and clients relating to
Advancement Services in an effort to propose, test and implement
The incumbent is responsible for managing employee relation issues,
including recruitment, training, and all disciplinary actions.
Working with all Advancement Services' departments, clients, user groups
and ITS, the Manager develops and implements procedures and guidelines
that lead our users towards adopting a "best practice" model.
University degree specializing in business processes or computer related
field. Formal project management training an asset. Knowledge of report
writing tools an asset. In depth understanding of relational databases,
system reporting and data formatting and migration in a networked
- Minimum of three to five years
experience in business/IT analysis and computer report writing and
data management; with at least one year of dedicated/direct project
- Advanced knowledge of and work
experience with Advancement Services/Fundraising practices.
- Excellent knowledge and ability to use
reporting tools and query applications, and experience training others
in the use of these tools.
- Experience in an office/results
oriented service environment.
- Supervisory experience at a management
level. Demonstrated competence in application/data management, and
exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, detail oriented
and ability to understand the needs of the end user.
- A sound understanding of the

and decision-making processes, policies and procedures would be an
