 Coordinator of Stewardship and Donor Relations

Job DescriptionPlan, coordinate and manage cultivation, recognition and stewardship events designed to increase awareness and support of the College. It is the purpose of this individual to assist in the building and strengthening of relationships with donors and donor prospects. Coordinate donor scholarship program.

DUTIES:
  • Arrange and prepare event plans, budgets, scripts, schedules, printed material, contracts, and publicity in consultation with marketing coordinator as required.
  • Serve, chair, or consult with other College events committees as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors, facilities personnel, and others, as needed.
  • Ensure that the College’s trustees and other top donors and donor prospects are included in appropriate College events and are recognized for their service and generosity.
  • Manage all aspects of the scholarship program, including soliciting donors and others for additional financial support, providing donors with reports on the activities of their respective scholarship funds, and conducting recognition events for donors.
  • Assist in establishing advancement-related appointments for the president and executive director of institutional advancement (manage the “moves management” program).
  • Attend appropriate stewardship and recognition events, and coordinate feedback from staff and volunteers on contacts made.
  • Attend future campaign committee meetings, as requested.
  • Inform the president and executive director of institutional advancement of important facts and information regarding major donors, i.e., birthdays, anniversaries, special accomplishments, in connection with cultivations and solicitations.
  • Engage in prospect research activities on behalf of the College.
  • Responsible for operation of all giving clubs.
  • Structure and maintain a stewardship program that includes: institutional advancement office, president’s office, admissions, business office, academic affairs, and athletics.
  • Develop effective donor recognition strategies, including yearlong, highly individualized projects.
  • Write acknowledgements, maintain acknowledgement program.  Be conscious of need for special acknowledgements when necessary.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to deal effectively with a wide range of individuals within and out of the College.
  • Broad base of knowledge and skills related to donor cultivation and special event planning.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills required.
  • Deadline and detail oriented.
  • Must possess a high level of energy and a can-do attitude.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree needed.
  • Two to four-years of relevant donor cultivation and special event planning experience.
  • Broad based knowledge of educational fundraising.
