With more than 20 years of experience in a variety of nonprofit
environments, Amy appreciates sharing the ideas she has learned
about advancement services as they apply to many different nonprofit
organizational profiles. Apart from more general administrative
roles in higher education institutions and at hospitals in the
Boston area, her recent experience in institutional advancement has
included roles at a small college, a museum, a public theatre group,
a "think tank" in Washington, DC, and then with the CASE Award
winning advancement program at Temple University.
Amy recently returned to the DC area to use her skills and
experience as Gift Registrar for the Smithsonian Institution. She
has given presentations on both software utilization tricks and best
office processes at annual user conferences held by the Sage Group
(formerly JSI Fundraising Systems, Inc.), the NE Millennium Users'
Group [NEMUG] and also the Mid-Atlantic Millennium Users’ Group [MAMUG].
Amy has served on the faculty for the Annual Advancement Academy as
well as at various CASE conferences – for which she has been
recognized with a Faculty Star several times – and also presented at
2007’s Annual Giving Professionals Network conference at Cal
Poly-Pomona. As an active member of CASE’s Matching Gift Advisory
Council for 4 years, she presented at 4 Symposiums and also provided
editing and writing services for the most recent CASE publication on
Matching Gift Administration. Amy is also a founding member of the
Association of Advancement Services Professionals [AASP] for which
organization she currently serves on the Board as well as on the
Ethics Committee.
